My first big hurdle cleared. Under 300lbs and feeling 100% better. I'm currently down 35lbs total, but that has been since I made the change after Thanksgiving. A little over 10lbs lost since my first weigh-in. I've only cheated 1 time and that was back in December at a Christmas party where there were almost 0 keto or low Carb options. Thanks to JT and the mods for getting this going. It definitely helps keep me on track. Sent from my SM-G955U using Tapatalk

For those of you who say you feel better..in what way? 7 years ago I quit drinking cokes. Two doctors said it would reduce my reflux and I would feel better. I didnt think I felt bad but either way i havent had a coke/soda in 7 years. Reflux is still horrible
The last several years I start working out about 4 or 5 months before elk season. I lose 15 to 20lbs. I dont feel better working out, I dont have more energy. Nothing. The only difference is my jeans arent as tight around the waist. I have run up and down the mountains without the workout and losing weight and I feel no difference year to year. I gain the weight back almost immediately after season and dont feel bad, dont lose energy, none of the stuff other people say they feel.

For me, I have been back in the gym since I got cleared to work out after my car accident in Oct 2018. I got cleared in July. I got stronger, but lost very little weight (I gained 20lbs after the accident). Really more working out to maintain my crappy diet and beer drinking. I started Keto 1/6/20. I’m shedding weight. I have more energy. This may sound weird, but my bowl movements are more regular and less frequent. With the weight loss I’m no longer snoring at night (huge win for the wife). Pretty sure that’s equating to better sleep which also helps the body recover. I never took the food I intake seriously until now and it has made a world of difference for me.

The biggest thing is I'm getting more and better sleep. I was waking up at least 2 times a night to urinate, and was snoring loudly. I was not getting good sleep at all. Now I'm not waking up at all, and when I wake up in the mornings, I feel rested. The next way I feel better is I dont get tired during the day after eating lunch or other meals. My bowel movements are better, and I'm less bloated and gassy. I've been doing strict keto since Thanksgiving and feel great. I have transitioned into intermittent fasting and only eating between 11am and 7pm. Every other week I will do a 24 hour fast. Sent from my SM-G955U using Tapatalk

Last 3 months I averaged 3 hours of sleep either day or night. I feel fully rested, but my blood pressure is getting high, stress as high (has been for 8 years) My wife says I dont act (grumpy she says) like im fully rested. Maybe bad feeling got to be normal. Trying to change a bunch at once stress level, shift work, diet maybe all of them combined maybe I will hit a spot where i feel good and realize how bad ive felt.

It seems to be more sustainable to me, especially now that I have a job with "normal" hours.

I think there’s a lot of truth in that. You don’t know how bad you were until you feel as good as you will later. Getting off shift work will help whatever plan you try to get on. That lifestyle is hard on the body. It’s a marathon, not a sprint. Make reasonable changes slowly and you’ll see dramatic improvement over time. Small wins. Check them off daily.
